Does anyone remember what the Sun looks like?

Ok seriously now...I think it has rained part of every day for the last month. We have seen the sun...it comes out for an hour here and there and gives us a tease, but then the clouds come back...and with the clouds comes the rain. So, I'm ready for a couple of sunny days.

I have been talking with a friend from high school, that I haven't seen in 25+ years. So, my memories have been flooding back, and what I realize most, is that I don't have any pictures of that time...outside of my yearbooks. Not sure if my mom does or not. I wish I had been a scrapbooker back then!

So my challenge to you is to find some pictures of yourself from Way back when...and get to work remembering the good times you had...and looking back at who and where you were then to who and where you are now!

Scrap Retreat pages finally

OK...why finally? Because I went on this retreat in November. It's April...bit behind, of course!

retreat1

This layout uses the Key to My Heart Papers (no longer available, but love them anyway!), chocolate grosgrain ribbon and brads and buttons all from CTMH. I wish I could tell you who made the flowers, however, I got them from my friend Kathea, and she had them sorted by color, not manufacturer...so...I'm sorry I cannot acknowledge these manufacturers.

April 20th- Getting Ready for Fundraiser Party

I'm hosting a party on May 2nd to celebrate National Scrapbooking Day and to raise money for Operation Smile, the charity that CTMH sponsers. Volunteer Medical teams working with Operation Smile can perform a life changing surgery to correct facial deformities for about $240 a surgery. I've set a goal of raising $500 this year....so if you are interested in helping, you can:
1) Host a party as a percentage of all stamp set sales is donated to Operation Smile
2) Place an order, and round up your order to the next dollar, five dollars or Ten dollars...whatever fits for you! for example if your order totals 24.50, round it up to $25 or $30.
3) Share my blog or website with your friends so that they can do 1 or 2!

How easy is that!

If you are interested in ordering, without having a party, please go to my website at www.memryscrpr.myctmh.com or if you would like to schedule a party or book show, contact me here or through my website!

Thanks for stopping by!

I know, it's a shock..a 2nd layout in one week! Don't get too comfortable though as I 'm not sure I'll be keeping up at this level.

This Layout was made again with all Close to My Heart products. That's Amore level 2, and LoveAlways journaling spots. The stamp is from a promotional set w/purchase that Close to My Heart gave in February. The bling are clear sparkles, also Close to My Heart.

I can't believe over a month has gone by...

and I haven't posted anything new....guess I better get my act together! So, here is a layout I did of my daughter's 13ths birthday...it's only a year late, but it's done. All supplies used except the "1" and "3" are Close to my Heart products. The numbers are Tim Holtz's grungeboard numerals, from the Idea-ology line. The papers are from the Level 2 That's Amore paper kit (x7107b), and I used tulip ink to make the border. The stamps are from the Believe in Your Dreams stamp set (B1322). I also used one of the cardstock Love Always Journaling Spots (x1407), and chocolate grosgrain ribbon(this was part of a promotion and not in the current catalog). You can see these items at my website: www.memryscrpr.myctmh.com Click on products and choose the spring 2009 catalog.

Oh..I forgot I also used a photo clip (Z292) and a bit of bling with the small gem circle...

2/7 Cropping All Day...

today I spent the day scrapbooking with new and old friends at a 12 hour crop! I worked on 2 different small albums, a layout that I started a while ago and was having issues completing and a couple of cards...Which I'm going to show to you here!.

These were created using CTMH supplies and inks: the Emporium Collection Creative Basics papers and Ribbon. The colors are sweat pea, twilight and vineyard berry. The stamp set is not a current set, but is also CTMH....at this minute I cannot remember the name of the set, and I still have not unpacked my car...so I'll update that tomorrow...

Feb 1, 2009

I can't believe it's already February...where did January go?? Lots of snow and cold weather, but that is typical for a NH winter. Now I'm ready for spring, or at least warmer weather.

Well, now I'm going to start getting organized and start focusing on my scrapbooking for this new year. Next weekend I am going to a 12 hour crop...so I should get some work done there! Just have to focus on creating, and expanding my CTMH business.

I am holding a workshop on the 22nd featuring That's Amore paper and stickease...if you live in the southern NH area and would like to attend, please sent me an email or leave a comment and I'll provide you with details!

Jan 18th It's Sunday, so it must be Snowing!

Yes, it's snowing again in NH. We are expecting 4-8 inches before it's done...I think it will be more as I think we already have close to 4 inches at 8am..and the storm warning goes to Midnight tonight.

The good thing about snow, is it makes everything look fresh and new. The bad is driving when the roads aren't fully cleared. As this is my son's first winter as a driver, I think he's getting a bit frustrated, as I won't let him drive in it yet...at least not while it's snowing. So I got up early this morning to shovel (basically just push the snow off of the ice in my driveway) so I could drive him to work. I won't complain about not sleeping in, because at least he has been lucky enough to find a part time job.

My friends and I checked out a new to us scrapbook store yesterday called Scrapbooker's Dream in Tewksbury MA. Very nice store. I heard the owner telling someone she is expanding next month. I have to drive by her store every 4-5 weeks when I take my daughter's figure skates to be sharpened, so I am looking forward to stopping back soon.

Winter Wonderland?

OK...I do like snow and I'm very thankful that so far this year that most of our storms have been the fluffy stuff and not the heavy wet stuff, however I wouldn't mind if we had a least one straight week without a storm. Last night we got about 5 inches and it's still coming down. I went outside nice and early this morning (6:30) with my 16 yo son to shovel as he needed to be at work by 7:30. we managed to clear the driveway in about 1/2 hour...not bad seeing the snow blower is broken and we were doing the old fashioned shoveling! Only bad thing is that I will have to go out again in an hour or so to shovel again! Oh well...at least I can say I got my exercise for the day.

Anyway, if you live in a snowy area, take a minute to look out at the white fluffy blanket of snow...even though many of us consider it an inconvience, it really is beautiful to see. Makes the world look clean and fresh and ready for the possibilities.

Mad Cow or Dumb Blonde

I"m really not a dumb blonde, and not all blondes are dumb....however...this is how my day started:

This morning, B came in and said to me..Mom you should go out early, your car doors are frozen shut.
OK...didn't think much about it, as we had the ice storm yesterday...not totally unexpected. Went out..felt kinda warm, but my car is covered with ice...so I'm trying to open the doors.....nothing...tried all 4....nothing...called my brother for advise...he says try a hair dryer or hot water and see what happens...
So the next 20 minutes I'm blow-drying my car doors around the seams...trying to get the doors to open...Nothing.
Called Al, my co-worker to say I'm going to be late. Doors won't open. tell him how I've been trying to get them open...hip checked to try to break any ice, blow-drying etc...he says wow...that's weird...
then he says to me...did you unlock the doors....I don't lock my doors to my car when I'm home I said...but maybe I should check...
Doors were locked.....

1/7/09 another snowy day

OK...at least 4 storms in the past few weeks..I'm getting tired of winter already. The kids had delayed opening Monday and no school today...seems like they are spending more days out of school instead of in school...

Jan 4, 2009 - a new year

Yesterday was the 18th birthday of M, the oldest daughter of one of my best friends. So I went downstairs and put together this little card for her. The papers used are from the Level 2 Magic Moments Kit and the stamp sets are Cupcake Sprinkles and Card Sentiments, all from Close to My Heart. I also used Tim Holtz's grungeboard #1 and #8. The inks and markers are CTMH-Chocolate, citrus leaf and Hollyhock, for ink and dutch blue, hollyhock, sunflower for markers. The bling is Clear Sparkles (CTMH) and Stickles (ranger).
The scalloped oval die is from Nestabilities.
